Putting a Squeeze on Childhood Cancer

Anthem LemonAid, CMN Hospitals’ signature summer event, was held July 14-16 with more than 900 area stands set up by families, businesses and community organizations. All funds raised will be used toward a $250,000 commitment made to the infusion center in Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU’s (CHoR) ASK Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic, where children with cancer receive chemotherapy, blood transfusions and immune system boosting infusions.

Amber Haddon (pictured at right) won the Most Festive Stand contest for her creatively decorated stand outside of the Innsbrook Kroger. This was Amber’s first year participating, and she raised $400 at her stand. Stands like Amber’s were hosted outside of 15 area Kroger stores throughout the weekend in addition to participating Walgreens, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Lakeside Avenue locations. The Most Festive Stand contest was sponsored by RVA Primrose Schools, and Amber’s family received an annual pass to the Children’s Museum of Richmond.
